# Tadeáš Vacek

> AI & Data Consultant, Project and Engagement Manager. I help companies with data and AI: from strategy through processes to delivery.

Companies come to me in one of two situations. Not sure what to do with data and AI: You want to build more on data and use AI, but do not know where to start. We work out where it makes sense, I prepare the plan and the project, and I stay with it through delivery. You have a plan, not the delivery: You already have an idea, sometimes a specific project, and need someone to deliver it. I take over running the project and coordinate the internal team and vendors.

## What I do

### Data and AI

- **AI use cases**: I identify use cases where AI on company data saves work, and deliver them all the way into production, for example conversational analytics over a semantic model. I also lead the development of smaller applications and business systems, from requirements and delivery to project and product management.
- **Data warehouses and platforms**: I lead delivery and own the concept: what gets built, in what order, and why. I have led or contributed to projects on Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Keboola and AWS, so I am not tied to one vendor or one solution.
- **Reporting and visualisation**: Tableau and Power BI. I developed in them for years; today I lead the teams who build reports in them. I help companies choose the tool, design the reporting concept, set standards and governance, create a design system for dashboards and get reports adopted by users. More and more I bring in AI, both for building reports and inside the BI tools themselves.
- **Location intelligence**: Location decisions backed by data. I uncover spatial patterns and help with site selection and scoring, entering new markets, finding white spaces or cannibalisation across a branch network. I combine client data with external and spatial data, including multispectral satellite imagery. My experience ranges from GIS in research to commercial property valuation.

### Strategy and change

- **Growth and strategy**: With leadership I name where the business is heading, what holds it back and which priorities come first. I run strategy workshops that end with a clear strategy, defined use cases, plans or goals.
- **Processes and transformation**: I map how processes really work in the business, where manual work piles up and where things get stuck. I propose what to simplify or automate, including the use of data and AI. I help introduce the change so that people accept it: operating model, governance, roles and communication.
- **Team design and hiring**: I design roles, team structure and the profile of the people the business needs, and help select candidates so the team runs on its own after the project.
- **People development**: Coaching and mentoring for analysts, data teams and managers. I run training workshops and talks.

### Actum Digital — Manager (2022 — present)

I work in roles such as engagement manager, project manager, BI leader or business analyst. I work on data platforms, reporting, AI solutions, data governance, operating model design, change management and strategic planning. This helps clients reach their goals. I lead a BI team of seven.

### Deloitte — Senior consultant (2020 — 2022)

On engagements I was a business analyst and BI leader, early on also developing in BI tools myself. I worked on data warehouses, platforms and reporting for clients and the internal organisation, for example internal reporting for the partner who led a 140-person consulting team in Central Europe, or a global data platform for a car maker.

### Geomaniacs — Co-founder (2018 — 2020)

Location intelligence. I worked on a project for a bank that set out to build a methodology for valuing commercial property. For an energy supplier I ran a spatial analysis of detractors, the dissatisfied customers. We worked with geodata, geographic information systems and Python.

### STEM/MARK — Supervisor, project manager, data analyst (2014 — 2019)

Market and public opinion research. Most projects were short, lasting a few weeks or months, some ran long-term. I ran a shift of around forty interviewers and was responsible for the quality of the data they collected. Alongside that I managed research projects and prepared questionnaires, and in the final years analysed data in SQL, Python and GIS.

## Education

- Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (2014 — 2019): MSc, Landscape and Land Consolidation. Focused on GIS, remote sensing, working with data and programming.

## Talks and teaching

- Use of Visual Data Analysis in Internal Audit, Czech Institute of Internal Auditors (2022): How to analyse data, interpret it visually and uncover patterns in it, including hands-on training in the tools used for it.
